The Space Between Chaos and Ease

Open garden door symbolizing the space between chaos and ease in trauma and ADHD therapy.

Imagine a day where:

You don’t have to rehearse what you say.
You rest without guilt.
You walk through life feeling centered — not because the world stopped spinning, but because you’re no longer fighting your own heart.

In our work together:

I’ll help you create that space between chaos and ease. Not by pretending the chaos isn’t there, but by helping your whole Self — brain, body, soul — remember the truth: I’m worthy and I belong.

I know what it feels like when your brain’s a storm that won’t quit and your body’s holding memories you never asked for. But there is another way.

If you’re ready to find this space, to stop believing you’re the mistake, and start feeling what’s true — that you’ve always been enough - I’m here to support you. All of you: the brilliant, the exhausted, the done-with-apologizing you. You don’t have to keep doing this alone.

Let’s do this together.

Not Sure if You’re Neurodivergent or Living with the Lingering Effects of Trauma?

Here are Some Signs that You May Be:

  • A busy or restless mind that rarely feels quiet

  • Sensitivity to noise, light, or other sensory input

  • Feeling easily overstimulated or, at times, shut down

  • Difficulty initiating or finishing tasks, even ones you care about

  • Periods of hyper-focus followed by burnout or exhaustion

  • Feeling misunderstood, “too much,” or “not enough” in relationships

  • You notice patterns others miss and often think why doesn’t anyone else see this?

The Lingering Effects of (Complex) Trauma

  • A constant undercurrent of tension or unease, even when things seem fine

  • Difficulty trusting yourself or others, or second-guessing your own instincts

  • Emotional reactivity that feels out of proportion to the moment

  • An ongoing drive to perform, achieve, or stay in control

  • Feeling disconnected from joy, rest, or authentic connection

  • A nervous system that never fully feels “off duty.”

  • Feeling both a longing for closeness and a pull to withdraw or protect yourself

  • Be fully welcome. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming and support people of all identities. You belong here, exactly as you are.

  • Tune into your body and emotions to uncover the roots of old patterns, while practicing Self-Compassion

  • Process (complex) trauma using EMDR, IFS, and somatic methods tailored to you

  • Integrate insights by working with your Parts, incorporating movement, and connecting with nature

  • Learn what emotional flashbacks are and how to manage them

  • Lean on Leasel’s calming presence to stay grounded

  • Carve out space for play, spontaneity, and rejuvenation—even in the midst of challenging work

So that you can:

  • Rebuild trust in your own discernment and emotional clarity = self-empowerment

  • Learn to treat yourself with Self-Compassion instead of criticism and judgement

  • Learn adaptive strategies to lessen the fall-out of your particular patterns of neurodivergence that cause you the most trouble

  • Release the emotional charge of painful memories and create more ease and flow with your nervous system so you feel more grounded

  • Build relationships that feel reciprocal and supportive

  • Restore balance between achievement and rest

  • Cultivate peace and hope that lasts beyond the therapy office

Seasoned Clinical Expertise You Can Trust

Tall tree with strong roots representing the wisdom my decades of experience brings to the recovery of my clients healing from the lingering effects of complex trauma through therapy with Kathy M. Brady in Denver.

With over 25 years of clinical experience—and decades dedicated to my own recovery from complex trauma and learning to live well with ADHD—I offer both professional expertise and a deeply lived understanding to this work.Through the years, I’ve learned that change happens when honesty is met with safety and courage is balanced with compassion. I know what it takes to move through pain toward real freedom, and I bring that clarity and empathy to our sessions.

More Than Talk Therapy: Connecting Mind, Body, and Heart

In our work together, we go beyond simply talking about your life. I’ll gently help you shift out of the constant analysis of your mind and into the wisdom of your heart and body. This is where your strength and self-trust live, and where we can reach the parts of you that already know how to heal.

I draw from evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Therapy, integrating them with Conscious Living principles. Together, these approaches can help us uncover the deeper patterns shaping your experience and guide us toward change that’s meaningful and lasting.

Grounded Support with Leasel, My Therapy Dog

To help you feel grounded, my therapy dog, Leasel, often joins us (only if you wish). Her calm, steady presence brings warmth and is an incredible support—especially when you’re navigating trauma or neurodiversity. I often joke about her "Sacred Doggo Energy” being in the room, but the truth is, Animal-Assisted Therapy offers a unique comfort that helps your nervous system settle and feel safe enough to heal.

Healing with Hope and Humor

While we address the root of your challenges, I offer a warm, down-to-earth style that leaves plenty of room for humor and lightness. Even when the work is intense, hope remains at the center of it.

You Don't Have to Keep Figuring This Out on Your Own.

You are the expert on yourself, and I’m here as your experienced ally and supporter. Healing isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about finally coming home to yourself, with more ease, freedom, and trust in your own inner wisdom.

Therapy dog, Leasel resting in Kathy Brady’s Denver office, where adults healing from ADHD and trauma and anxiety find warmth, calm, and support. Kathy Brady, LCSW, accepts Kaiser and private pay clients.

“I believe that You are the expert on you — even if it doesn’t feel that way right now.”

Why This Approach Works

NeuroSpicy adults often struggle silently, feeling pressure to “have it all together.” And living with the lingering effects of (complex) trauma only seems to intensify that pressure.

But healing requires something different — slowing down, listening inward, and allowing the body to help lead the way.

Although that may sound foreign or even scary, I will gently teach you how to shift from overdrive to presence and from being a ‘human doing’ to ‘human being’. This is the foundation for cultivating a sense of embodied peace in your life.

You’re not alone and you don’t have to keep figuring it out by yourself.
